K-Sounds is proud to present Epic Grand, an amazing sample library for the Yamaha Montage and MODX featuring close-miked stereo samples of a Japanese grand. With pristine samples throughout the dynamic range and generous sustain, this piano is designed to make your music truly epic.

Two bank sizes are included for the Yamaha Montage and MODX. The 504Mb bank offers eight sampled dynamic levels for realistic dynamic response across the keyboard. Additional independent elements such as damper resonance, release resonance, and hammer noise samples bring the piano to life. 30 performances cater to a wide variety of musical styles. The Super Knob is musically useful in every performance, whether increasing the piano's distance from the listener, fading between layers, providing dynamic control, or adding lush effects.

The 125Mb bank includes four sampled dynamic layers plus damper resonance, release resonance, and hammer noises. Its 30 performances offer the same sonic variety and real-time control as the larger bank. Despite its smaller size, the 125Mb bank sounds incredible. Epic Grand offers a unique implementation of damper resonance: Real sampled resonance is provided - far surpassing mere digital effects or convolution. As with a real piano, the resonance responds to the sustain pedal in real time, even if notes have already been played. And because the resonance is presented as an independent component of the instrument, its volume may be adjusted, and it can be disabled entirely.

At K-Sounds, we believe the most important requirement of a virtual piano is that it be incredibly playable. With that goal in mind, Epic Grand was played constantly during its development process. As a result, we believe it is one of the most musical and playable sampled pianos available.
